Pastificio Paone, located in Formia, has a rich and fascinating history that reflects the tradition and innovation of pasta production in Italy. Founded in 1878 by Vincenzo Paone, the pasta factory was one of the first industrial plants in the region, combining artisanal quality with industrial production capacity.

Foundation and Early Years

In 1878, Vincenzo Paone started his pasta factory with the intention of bringing the tradition of artisanal pasta to an industrial level. Using high-quality grains and pure water from the nearby mountains, Paone was able to produce a very high-quality pasta that quickly gained an excellent reputation in the region.

Growth and Development

Over the next few decades, Pastificio Paone continued to grow. In the early 1900s, the company introduced new technologies to improve production and increase production capacity. Despite industrialization, Paone maintained a strong commitment to quality, ensuring that each batch of pasta conformed to the artisanal standards established by the founder.

The War Years

During the two world wars, Pastificio Paone faced numerous challenges, including problems with the supply of raw materials and logistical difficulties. However, the company managed to maintain production, supported by the dedication of the Paone family and its workers.

Post-War growth

In the post-war period, Italy experienced a period of reconstruction and economic growth, and Pastificio Paone benefited from this. The company further modernized its facilities and expanded its product range. In the 1950s and 1960s, Paone began exporting its pasta beyond Italy’s borders, conquering new markets in Europe and beyond.

Tradition and innovation

In the 1970s and 1980s, the company continued to innovate, introducing new pasta shapes and improving production processes. At the same time, Pastificio Paone held firm to the traditional values that had made the company famous: quality, authenticity and passion for pasta.

Recent years

Over the past decades, Pastificio Paone has continued to grow and evolve. The company management has been transferred to Corex SpA, a Campania-based company already known for the production and export of pasta and preserves. The company has invested in new technologies to improve the sustainability of production and has further expanded its presence in international markets. Today, Paone is a recognized and respected brand, synonymous with quality and Italian tradition.

Plans for the future

Looking to the future, Pastificio Paone is committed to maintaining its standards of excellence while continuing to innovate and adapt to changes in the global marketplace. The company remains firmly rooted in its artisanal tradition, but is also ready to explore new opportunities and take on new challenges.
